So I chopped off a huge chunk of my hair last week, and I am sad. I've spent years growing my hair but the damage was just too much to deal with anymore.
But I've been playing with new hairstyles, (the fun part of a new haircut!) I found that Gibson tucks are adorable, but kept becoming too loose and messy, needing a few readjustments a day, so a friend of mine pointed me in the direction of Spin Pins.
WTF is a statement I am expecting from a lot of readers at the moment, check these out.
These pins once inserted in your hair are not going anywhere! Your style will also last longer and stay pulled together. Easy to use, all you do is hold you hair in place with one hand, and rotate the pin into place with the other. You can use them with numerous up styles, practically anything that you would use normal pins to hold a bun like structure in place.
My advice is to look up Spin Pins on your local eBay site, as the 'authentic' ones are ridiculous in their price, when all they are is a small piece of wire.

Sales Hauling
So after a shattering week that involved my teams first game -and fracturing my finger at training on Tuesday- I went shopping. No excuses needed. It was just time to go out and buy some stuff that I had earned!
I went out for three hours an still didn't managed to get to all the stores I meant to!
First cab off the rank was Sportsgirl with their enormous amount of markdowns. I was very pleased with the selection and made off with a massive stack of clothes on my arm to try on, in the end I went for the items below:
This tunic I bought two sizes too big as it was the only size left, but it still looks great on, I can wear it belted up to emphasis my waist and help keep it in place in windy weather or come the hotter weather it'll look great with shorts.

Cute striped singlet for under $10? Yes please!
I also picked up this cute mod style skirt. It looks gorgeous with a plain boxy tank, tights, and chunky jewellery.

Best time to stock up on accessories!
Hey girls, I know I've been a bit sparse lately, I've started up a new team sport and the training is often and brutal. I'm sorry that I've been lacking my usual post frequency. During the week I don't have much time to do stuff, but on the weekend I do, so I'll have to sort something out.
One thing I do want to draw your attention to is a particular facet of the sales that are going on. This is the best time of the year to go and stock up on costume jewellery at Diva and Lovisa. Arm yourself with about $100 and you will get a stack more then you would at any time of the year (also post-Christmas, amazing!), and it can be very surprising what you come away with. Stuff that has barely been dropped in store are often part of the markdowns. I always keep an eye out for things that look like they don't belong in there. I get asked time and time again where I bought my massive statement jewel necklace and I love saying smugly it got me change from $10.
I think some of the really trendy items that are worth picking up at the moment are collars and torques. IT's a slight blast from the nineties, solid colours and metal finishes are really hot right now too and will see you right into summer.
